Planets in the Desert - A Streaming Instability Code Comparison
Location: NMSU campus, O'Donnell Hall (OH111), from June 1st to June 3rd.
Information: The meeting is sponsored by NASA's Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics Networks (TCAN) program, as part of the collaboration effort led by Dr. Lyra. It's a hybrid workshop, half of the attendants are remote from Europe. There will be talks from 8am to 12pm MDT, and discussions in the afternoon.
Purpose: to define numerical benchmarks for the streaming instability in particular, and dust drag in general. We aim to have a broad number of different methods and codes, including fluid and particle descriptions. The meeting will include invited and contributed talks, as well as a coding session.
Social Events: There will be a reception at the Players Grill, a conference dinner at La Posta, and a social hike up A mountain after the last day.
