Education:
BA: Astronomy, University of Colorado Boulder, 2024
BA: Physics, University of Colorado Boulder, 2024
I graduated with a double major in Astronomy (Astrophysics track) and Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder in May 2024. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Astronomy at NMSU, starting in July 2024. My research interests span solar physics, helioseismology, magnetohydrodynamics, celestial mechanics, and the dynamics of planetary systems.
During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to engage in various research projects, such as studying the properties of acoustic sources on the Sun, exploring the role of the magnetic structure size distribution on solar irradiance variations, and examining magnetic fields and solar irradiance in high-resolution. These projects culminated in my honors thesis which I defended in April 2024.
My professional experience includes working at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at CU Boulder, where I engaged with high-resolution solar telescope data and radiative magnetohydrodynamic simulations. Additionally, I participated in NASA's L’SPACE Academy, gaining insights into NASA mission procedures and proposal writing.
I was honored to give the student address at the APS graduation ceremony, where I shared my journey as an international student from Nashik, India. I was also named one of the 'Amazing Grads 2024' and received Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) grants for two consecutive summers.
Outside of my academic pursuits, I enjoy hiking and have completed challenging solo hikes, including summiting Mount Elbert and other 14ers in Colorado. I am passionate about learning new languages and am proficient in English, Hindi, and Marathi, and have elementary proficiency in French. I also enjoy playing chess, cricket, and basketball.
