Research
I work with Dr. Christopher Churchill in quasar absorption line spectroscopy. I am currently involved in a project detecting CIV lines in quasar spectra from SDSS DR17. I am also working with Daniel Godines, another graduate student at NMSU Astronomy, to release a Python Package called LineDetect. LineDetect is capable of continuum fitting spectra and detecting narrow absorption lines in them. A beta version of this project is available on GitHub.
Previously, I had worked with Dr. Susanna Guatelli, Dr. Christopher Lidman and Dr. Glenn Kacprzak analyzing Mg-II absorbers in quasar spectra from the Australian Dark Energy Survey for my Undergraduate Honours thesis at the University of Wollongong. This work was then expanded upon with Dr. Churchill at NMSU.
Personal Interests
I am very passionate about coding and am always on the lookout for good coding practices to incorporate into my research. In my free time, I like to work my way through the daily NYT Games and watch cricket (the game, not the insect and definitely not the American phone plan).
