Research

Dr Lyra's research focuses around computer simulations of planet formation in circumstellar disks, in order to characterize the mechanisms responsible for the formation of planetesimals and growth of planets. His research is currently funded by NASA and NSF, via eight active grants.

  • Sarah Chinski (2021-): 3D models of ice shell convection in Europa.
  • Harrison Cook (2019- ): Detectability of supernovae and black hole mergers in AGN disks.
  • Ali Hyder (2019-): Hydrodynamical models of Jupiter's atmosphere.
